Dance Program

The Arts are an important aspect of daily life at Woodland Park Academy.  Our Dance Program is one aspect of our amazing program that sets us apart from all other schools in Genesee County!  Woodland Park Academy’s Dance Program provides a variety of opportunities for students to explore and experience dance.

6-8th Grade Dance Electives (During School)

Students sign up for dance during their elective course each semester.  Students learn basic social dances such as the swing, slow dance steps, waltz, etc., along with group mixers and line dances.  Students also learn appropriate social dance and performance skills to increase their confidence as they attend dances and participate in performances.

Dance Club (After School)

After-school dance classes are available for K-8th Grade students tuition-free. Dance includes tap & ballet (K - 5th Grades) and clogging (5th - 8th Grades). These classes help students learn the basics of dance, and prepare them to participate in our dance performances. Registration for these classes takes place in August and January.

K-1 Dance

Performances

The Academy produces musical and dance performances several times during the year. These performances share all aspects of the fine arts program. Visual art students display projects during performances.
